🍌 DX Jungle Helper

DX Jungle Helper connects DX Jungle SatTrack with FLRig. This allows your radio to automatically follow frequencies during satellite passes, including Doppler correction through FLRig. Ideal for amateur radio satellites, ISS passes and our own Ruimtebananen™.

The helper runs locally on your own Windows computer. You always stay in control of your radio.

📡 What do you need?

  • A Windows computer
  • FLRig installed and working
  • A radio supported by FLRig
  • A working CAT/USB connection to your radio
  • DX Jungle SatTrack

For serious satellite work, a radio with dual VFO or proper split support is strongly recommended. Think of radios such as the Icom IC-9700, Yaesu FT-991A or similar rigs.

🚀 Correct startup sequence

  1. Turn on your radio
  2. Start FLRig
  3. Check that FLRig reads your radio correctly
  4. Start DX Jungle Helper
  5. Open DX Jungle SatTrack
  6. Choose a satellite
  7. Check that SatTrack is connected to the helper
  8. Only then start tracking

When you open DX Jungle from the helper, the session code is passed along automatically. Normally you do not need to type it manually.

🔑 Session code

The session code links your browser to your local DX Jungle Helper. If you open SatTrack from the helper, this code is filled in automatically.

Only if the code in the helper does not match the code on the website, you need to change it manually.

🐵 For the naughty monkey who wants to transmit

DX Jungle Helper prepares frequencies through FLRig. The helper does not handle everything involved in transmitting.

You remain responsible for:

  • Transmit power
  • CTCSS tone
  • Uplink and downlink control
  • Split/VFO settings
  • License and band plan
  • PTT control

The monkey may help turn the dial, but you are still holding the banana. 🍌

📊 Usage and statistics

We count download clicks and may later count anonymous helper connections, so we can see how many people use DX Jungle Helper.

The goal is simple: to see which features are useful and where we can improve the software.

Tip: first make sure FLRig works perfectly with your radio. If FLRig reads your radio correctly, DX Jungle Helper can run neatly on top of it. That makes it easier to chase satellites, ISS signals and Ruimtebananen™ above your head. 📡🍌
